The Forge is a traditional sandstone building which stands in it own gardens within The Mill Hotel only 2 miles from Gretna Green. The interior boasts local craftmanship in the open timber roof and sandstone detail in the walls. These features along with the candlelight and soft music make for an enchanting church-like ambiance which is perfect for weddings.

The extensive grounds of The Mill Hotel, Gretna Green include various features such as the kissing gate, bandstand, Russian fountain, Gretna Green sign and millwheel, these can be used for backdrops in your wedding photographs or simply just for your enjoyment.

Either religious or civil ceremonies can be performed over the anvil. The Forge has seating for 40 and these seats form an aisle, which allows the bride's father to be give the bride away.

We have weddings here throughout the year with dates such as St Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve proving to be among the most popular of the year. Your wedding can be as large or as small as your heart desires. We have parties of 2 and some of 70, couples are aged between 16 and 86. Some of the brides favour a simple trouser suit while others opt for wedding dresses of varying styles and colours. The groom also has a choice of outfit with a kilt or morning suit being only 2 of the options available.
